I am proud to announce that I have ben named to be an Honorary Amgen Breakaway from Cancer Champion for 2015!

Breakaway from Cancer represents a partnership between Amgen, and four other nonprofit organizations: the Prevent Cancer Foundation, Cancer Support Community, the Patient Advocate Foundation and the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship organization. The Breakaway from Cancer partners collectively offer a broad range of support services to people affected by cancer and are dedicated to empowering patients with education, resources, and hope. Between these organizations you will find resources for everything from finding a ride to chemo, to help navigating your insurance, to lobbying for change in Washington DC, these organizations are really impressive and I am honored to be working with them.

I'm working with Breakaway from Cancer  to find 10 “Champions” in the fight against cancer who will join me in Southern California on May 16-17 at the conclusion of the tenth edition of the Amgen Tour of California professional cycling race. If you or someone you know is a cancer survivor, a patient or a caregiver who is inspiring others and making a mark on the cancer community, submit your nomination to BreakAwayFromCancer.com today.

Don't wait! Nominations close April 5.
